HAPPY NEW YEAR Yes it is February and Chinese New Year is upon us.
We commenced the New Year with refurbishing our office, come on in and see what our volunteers were able to achieve over a few days. Our many thanks go to John Scott and Quintin Ross who worked incredibly hard to achieve a beautiful room for our staff and volunteers.
Most importantly we thank the Lions Club of Glenside for their valuable donation to make this renovation possible. They are truly a great organisation that gives back to the community in many ways.
Our Term 1 program is out and there are some new and interesting programs happening throughout the year – Click here for Term 1 Weekly program and services Check out Super Garden Series including Costa Georgiadis – Gardening Australia coming to Eastwood.
This term we see a number of new programs and groups to the Centre, offered through Centacare and fitness instructors within our community.
A new program on the horizon is Playgroup and we would love to hear from families who would be interested to get together.
We are always looking to offer new programs that meet community need, so if you have an interest please let us know and we’ll see what we can achieve together. Drop us a line at: Email: email@example.com or chat with the staff or volunteers in the office.
COMMUNITY GARDEN EVENTS (MARCH AND APRIL)
As you know our beautiful community garden is open to use by Centre participants, families and the general public.
With some assistance from the City of Burnside the Centre garden is planted and looked after by Eastwood volunteers and we are always looking for more. So if you do have some spare time come along and hold a hose, weed, get into our compost or worm farm so that our garden can flourish over the upcoming year.
As we approach Term 2 be on the lookout for activities in our community garden. We have a garden series with known garden speakers such as
Costa Georgiadis – Gardening Australia, Kym Syrus – in the Garden, Caroline Dawes – Garden Design Adelaide, Sandra – Adelaide Bee Sanctuary, Sophie Thompson and others who will be joining us in March and April this year.
There will be opportunities to join in a workshop or undertake a project. .
Keep a look out for more information coming on these programs with final dates to be confirmed soon… bookings will be essential.
That’s it for now, I will be back on a regular basis updating you about what is happening at Eastwood and I look forward to catching up with you all in the upcoming weeks.
